Sharing the often-lengthy creative process for many designers, talented contemporary knitwear designer Amy Osgood (BGS 2016) has been busy creating her festive wear for ASOS during the heat of this summer. The British on-line fashion retailer will be selling six of Amy’s ultra-cool knitwear designs this winter.

Amy said: “As designers, we work months and months in advance; and Christmas is no different! These were jumpers I designed for ASOS in the height of the English summertime, when us Brits were too hot to move, let alone wear our woolies! But I'm so happy with the way all of these have turned out, looking fantastic on site and great additions to my portfolio.”

Following school, Amy went to the University of Southampton where she studied Fashion and Textile Design. Amy specialises in developing modern and innovative solutions to her knitted textiles and fashion pieces. After she graduated from university, Amy undertook internships at Odina Keim, Fiona Colquhoun and Julien Macdonald. Shortly afterwards Amy secured a job at the fashion online retailer, ASOS, as a Design Protégé for both womenswear and menswear. A very varied role which involving spec-ing up new styles, working with garment technicians, trend forecasting and buyers.

Amy is now a Design Assistant at eco-conscious retailer, Nobody’s Child.

This summer (2020), Amy kindly lent her expertise and helped mentor a Year 13 student who is now studying Fashion Technology at university.
