We are delighted to announce that talented performer, Sarah (Year 9), has gained a place at the at the West End MT (WEMT) following a successful online audition in March.

The WEMT is the UK’s leading professional weekend training programme for young performers. Every Sunday an elite group of the UK’s most talented performers come from all over the country to take part in five hours of intensive Musical Theatre training classes and workshops.

Sarah reflected on the audition process and training: “I found out about this audition through a Maddie Hope Coelho’s (Head of choreography at WEMT) TikTok page and through my theatre school. The audition took place over Zoom on Monday 8th March and I was tasked with performing an audition song of my choice. After a lot of searching, I performed Someone Woke Up from Rodger’s and Sondheim’s forgotten musical, Do I Hear a Waltz?

“My training begins in September in North London near Finsbury Park. It will (hopefully) be in person and runs over the course of five hours every Sunday for ten weeks in a term. At WEMT, I will also get the opportunity to perform on West End Live in June, which is a festival I’ve always gone to watch in Trafalgar Square; so getting to be a part of it is a dream come true for me!”

Many congratulations, Sarah!
