Our talented equestrian team enjoyed a successful day at the County qualifiers hosted by the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA). Held at Bury Farm, Leighton Buzzard on Sunday, the riders competed against riders from Herts, Beds, Bucks & Northants.
Sophia Osbourne (Year 10) and Molly Barker (Lower Sixth) showed great maturity and confidence in their categories and were the highest placed competitors in Bedfordshire group of schools.
In the 80cm Class team event, Molly Barker (Lower Sixth), Sophia Osbourne (Year 10), Jess Yeoman (Year 8) and Harriet Gates (Year 10) finished as the highest placed school in Bedfordshire and were crowned County Champions!
Both individuals, Molly and Sophia and the team will go on to compete at Hickstead in the County Championships in August if they are available.
Mrs Maudlin (Team Manager) said: “Seeing the students working as a team and supporting each other is always lovely. They’ve all worked so hard with their ponies and gaining this recognition is an added bonus.”
This weekend, Jess Yeoman (Year 8), Harriet Gates (Year 10), Izzy Perry (Year 9) and Sophia Osbourne (Year 10) will be heading to Hickstead to compete in the 70cm Jumping with style National Final, we wish them the best of luck.
