Miss Stuart (MFL Teacher)

In our Year 7 French class on Monday, the students performed dialogues they had written in pairs or groups of three, where they had showcased lots of useful language for arranging to go out. The attentive audience noted down in English key content they had understood then scored the dialogues out of five for pronunciation, enthusiasm and intonation.

Jemima Deane and Saskia Cutts won everyone over with their confident delivery and humour. Can you translate their dialogue?

Bonjour, Jemima. Ça va?

Salut, Saskia. Oui, bien

Tu veux sortir ce soir?

Non, je ne veux pas sortir

D’accord, on se retrouve demain après midi

D’accord. On se retrouve au parc?

Oui, on peut aller à la patinoire?

D’accord

Ma soeur peut venir?

D’accord. Elle peut venir.

À quelle heure?

À deux heures et demie.

Salut

À bientôt!

Madame Hosking’s Year 7 class enjoyed a similar lesson outside on Tuesday. Students worked collaboratively to write a conversation “arranging to go out” and then learnt it with the help of Madame Hosking and Océane, the French assistant, before performing it to the class. They took advantage of the beautiful gardens and weather!
