Our Year 11 students have been immersed in Sixth Form Taster Week. The week gave our students a chance to sample life in the Sixth Form, where they were introduced to their tutors, key Sixth Form staff and also participated in some experiential skills development activities. The Year 11 students gained a real sense of the many aspects of Sixth Form life.
Prior to the Sixth Form induction, the students enjoyed a host of enriching activities at school and in the beautiful sunny surroundings of Cople Fields. The action-packed programme allowed the students to wind down after their assessments with a focus on wellbeing and having fun! We hope you enjoy reading the student reflections below:

During the week, we have been given the amazing opportunity to try out a plethora of new activities such as: kick boxing, dancing and an escape room. I really enjoyed having female instructors for both the kickboxing and dance because it made me feel comfortable, allowing me to have more fun with my friends. I also had great fun at Cople with everyone; we had an amazing game of rounders and I loved racing my friends through the inflatable obstacle course. My favourite part was the water fight at the end of the day because everyone joined in, including some brave teachers. I thought it was a brilliant way to end the year before we all embark on our new adventures into Sixth Form.

“On Monday we participated in a range of activities including a kickboxing session, escape rooms, a hip-hop dance class and a game of rounders. I enjoyed trying new activities with my friends. On Tuesday we visited Cople Fields, I had lots of fun, playing rounders, signing t-shirts, racing on the obstacle course and our water fight. I really enjoyed getting our friends and teachers soaked, it was a lovely way to finish Year 11. Thank you to all the teachers for making this happen for us, we are very grateful we got to spend time together in the lovely weather.”

“We all thoroughly enjoyed the two days and we are very grateful for the teachers organising this for us as it was a great way to spend our last few days as Year 11.”

“The last few days have been so much fun; the wellbeing week was great to come back to after a long exam period. We all really appreciated being able to spend time with our friends before the year completed. It was so great to get out of our comfort zone and try new things like hip hop and kickboxing. Cople was so much fun, we all had an amazing day; I loved the water fight in particular. It was a great way to start the summer and we can’t wait for prom.”
