We are so proud of inspirational student, Regan Rowley-Smith (Year 5), who has raised over £150 for various charities including Prostate Cancer UK, GOSH and The Captain Tom Foundation.
Most recently she decided to do a small community gesture in her village by baking cakes for the older residents. With persistence during the downpour and 50 cakes later, she delivered every single cake to all her neighbours before the local Harvest Service.
Regan said: “I was inspired when I read in the Edit newsletter about some Year 6 girls cooking to raise money for charity. It was raining hard and I just wanted to cheer up the elderly people in my area so I decided to bake and deliver cakes.”
Regan is currently in the middle of climbing the Yorkshire Three Peaks in aid of the Road Victims Trust. So far, she has climbed Pen-y-ghent and Ingleborough, and intends to climb Whernside during half term. Keep up the amazing work, Regan!
It’s so heart-warming to see our students continuing to support their local communities and charities in different ways. We would love to hear your amazing stories of how you are helping the local community, please get in touch at [email protected].
