Mrs Greenwood (Lacrosse Coach)
What. A. Saturday. January 14th was quite the fixture against St. Paul’s. What started as a quiet morning steeped with fog creeping along the Cople playing fields turned into a highlight of matches. As the fog lifted, BGS began to awaken, shocking St. Paul’s with their jolt of energy. A collective energy flowed through all of the BGS teams ending the morning with a complete clean sweep of wins. Our attacking ends were busy at work scoring an average of nine goals among our nine teams playing. There is a reason we bestow the term ‘brick wall’ to a strong defence and ours more than deserves the honour.
On Saturday, the average goals scored against us was a mere three goals which by any standard is amazingly low. Thank you to the catering staff who yet again worked their magic in the pavilion serving up much needed hot drinks and delicious food. And a thank you to the parents who continuously support our athletes and our staff.
On to this weekend when we travel to North London Collegiate School for another day of exciting matches.
