Mrs Martin (Head of Year 3)

Throughout this term, Year 3 have been inquiring into how nature is a cultural stimulus for creativity and enjoyment.

We thought carefully about how nature is used as an expression of creativity and were able to participate in a day of storytelling and outdoor art. It is valuable to share in these activities so that the girls have perspective about other cultures, what their own beliefs are and to show an open-mind to the wider world.

Through their final project, the girls have worked to explain how natural resources promote cultural expression; investigating a culture of their choice and sharing their understanding of how nature provokes their expression for enjoyment and creativity, has provided each of the girls with ownership of their own avenue of exploration.

Each of the girls were given 10 minutes to present to their peers against an agreed success criteria and Mrs Thomas and I were blown away with the creativity and individualised projects, reflecting their caring attitudes and passions for the world. We are always left wanting more at the end of our Units and cannot wait to explore How The World Works next term!
