Many congratulations to the U15 hockey players who have qualified for another National Hockey Final after their success in the U14 Tier 2 National Finals last year.
The U15s had a tricky U16 East Tier 3 regional tournament as they were facing some strong, experienced U16 hockey teams from the regional. The team played Haileybury College first, with the game ending in a 0-0 draw. Next game was against Harleston Sancroft which ended in a 3-0 win and then they had another 3-0 win against Chigwell.
In the last game against Woodbridge, the BGS had to win by three goals to top their group. In the challenging weather conditions, with rain coming sideways, BGS won 4-0. The semi-final was against Coopers Coburn, again another stellar performance ended in a 1-0 victory and we moved into the final. We then faced Haileybury again in the final. Another tight match, with some incredible defending, ended 0-0 and penalty strokes. With Connie Horn (Year 9) in goal, BGS won the penalty strokes 3-1 and now off to the U16 Tier 3 National Hockey Finals.
