On Friday 10th March, five members of our talented Years 5 and 6 swimming team travelled to Watford to compete in the qualifying round of the ESSA Primary schools relay championship.

The girls raced in two events, the freestyle relay and the medley relay. Both teams made it through to the finals and managed to achieve 2nd place in both races on the night. BGS was competing against 10 schools from across Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.

The swimmers from Years 5 and 6 are now training hard in the run up to the national final held in Sheffield on the 17th June. The fastest swimmers from across the two year groups will be selected to compete in these championships.
