Before the half-term break on Thursday 23rd May, our Year 6 girls had the incredible opportunity to attend a vibrant performance of The Lightning Thief: A Percy Jackson Musical at Bedford College. This adaptation of Rick Riordan's beloved novel, Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief, was brought to life by a talented group of student performers.

The atmosphere buzzed with excitement in the auditorium, and it was clear that this was going to be a fantastic experience. From the very first scene, the audience was transported into the world of Percy Jackson. The young actors demonstrated skill and professionalism, each embodying their characters with a depth and passion.

The musical numbers were impressive, with each song performed energetically and emotionally, drawing the audience into Percy's journey. The choreography was intricate and well-executed, with the ensemble moving in perfect synchrony, adding visual appeal to the storytelling. The set design transformed the stage into various mythical locations, from Camp Half-Blood to the Underworld, with seamless transitions that kept the story moving. The lighting and sound effects enhanced the experience, creating moments of wonder.

Year 6 were inspired by what they saw. Their enthusiastic discussions on the way back to school showed their enjoyment and appreciation for the performing arts. This outing has sparked a new interest in theatre for many, with several keen to participate in future school productions.

Year 6 returned with wonderful memories and a renewed sense of creativity and interest in theatre.
