We are immensely proud to share Sophie Morris's achievements in karting. Sophie, currently in Year 5, competes in the Cadet category of The Kart Championship, a national series featuring 34 of the best 8-12-year-old drivers from across the country.

This championship has nurtured talents like Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button. Additionally, Sophie is competing in the Rye House Championship, where she currently holds third place.

Sophie began her karting journey at the age of 5, attending a 6-week 'K1 Stars' training course at Rye House, which provided her with the fundamentals of racing. By the age of 6, Sophie entered the Bambino category of the Super One National Championships, a competition that launched the careers of drivers such as Jenson Button and George Russell. During her 'Rookie' year, Sophie achieved a commendable 4th place out of 30 in the championship and secured several race victories, including a notable win at Clay Pigeon in Dorset. Sophie also excelled in the Rye House Club championship during her debut year, clinching the coveted 'O' plate and multiple heat wins throughout the season.

Sophie's passion for motorsports stems from her early exposure to Formula One races, where she developed a keen interest in not only driving but also mechanics and media aspects of the sport. She has had the privilege of meeting drivers, mechanics, and team members who have enriched her understanding of these facets.

Sophie reflected on her love of karting: “I love the speed and the excitement of racing. I have made some great friends and get to drive on tracks all over the country. I am part of Cutting Edge Racing (CER) and enjoy being part of a team, learning from the more experienced drivers and helping and supporting each other. I am racing in The Kart Championship this month and hope to finish in the top 10. I am also competing in the Rye House Championship and hope to finish in the top 3. Rye House is my favourite track as it is quite technical but also fast. The hairpins are my favourite part of the track and I love overtaking there!”
