By Mrs Baker (Year 5 Teacher)

As part of their Unit of Inquiry, How We Express Ourselves, Year 5 have been involved in writing and producing their own mini Greek plays. This project required them to consider the roles and responsibilities of everyone involved in their performances, fostering an understanding of collaboration and teamwork.

The girls were excited to take on the responsibility for writing playscripts as a group. They were also given a creative challenge to design and make their own character masks, which added a personal and artistic touch to their plays. Before writing their own plays, Year 5 had been invited to watch performances at the Senior School which had sparked their creativity and provided them with insights into theatrical production.

The culmination of this unit was for each class to perform to another class within the year group. The girls' enthusiasm and hard work shone through in their performances making this a memorable experience for everyone involved and a fantastic way to end Year 5.
