As the term comes to a close, our Year 4 classes have been busy honing their sewing skills to decorate tote bags. Inspired by Henri Rousseau, the girls created bold designs featuring rainforest plants and animals.
Each bag is unique, reflecting the girls’ interpretations of Rousseau’s style and their personal touches. They practised various stitching techniques, from simple stitches to more intricate patterns and chose vibrant rainforest colours, resulting in beautiful and distinctive tote bags.
The classroom was filled with excitement as the girls shared tips and admired each other’s work. The end results are truly impressive, showcasing their hard work and creativity. The girls can be proud of their achievements, having produced functional pieces of art that highlight their sewing skills and artistic flair.
