The annual Junior School Sports Day at BGS, marked by enthusiasm and team spirit, took place on Thursday 4th July, at the Bedford International Athletic Stadium.

The inter-house event brought together students, staff, and parents to celebrate physical fitness and camaraderie. There were fantastic performances in the ball throw and long jump events. The track events proved even more thrilling as the day progressed, with the sprint, egg and spoon race, and relays culminating in a record-breaking 75m sprint.

Congratulations to Year 6 pupil, Lottie Tillison, for recording an impressive 10.74 seconds in the 75m sprint, breaking the 2023 record of 10.95 seconds. The day was filled with excitement, healthy competition and a sense of community, with Nightingale emerging as the overall winner and taking home the trophy for 2024.

The spirit of teamwork and the joy of participation were evident in every event, making it a memorable day for all involved. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed, including all the BGS staff who helped on the day, as well as The Association (PTA) for providing much-needed ice lollies to the participants.
