Sixth Form Hockey

We are incredibly proud of Isla Campbell (Lower Sixth), who represented the U16 England Hockey team at the 4 Nations tournament in Glasgow from 13th to 16th July.

After being selected for the England hockey squad earlier this year and following a successful training camp against Ireland in February and competitive fixtures against Germany in June where the U16s defeated Germany for the first time in many years, Isla has gone from strength-to-strength on the international pathway programme.

The 4 Nations tournament featured four teams: England, Germany, Belgium and Scotland, all vying for the coveted title. Isla had a fantastic tournament, earning her 11th and 12th England caps and scoring her 6th and 7th international goals. Her goal in the second half of a challenging match against eventual tournament winners Belgium really buoyed the team, turning the tide to a 5-5 draw.

Isla later represented England again at the School Games at Loughborough University, capping off a busy and successful summer of hockey. She has now been invited to trial for the England Hockey U18s, a testament to the dedication she has shown throughout her season with the U16 squad.

Isla reflected: “I really enjoyed the 4 Nations experience and learned a great deal. We worked hard as a team, and I gained a lot of confidence, trying new skills and being more vocal on the pitch. I have many takeaways from this experience and hope to progress further on the international stage in the next two years!”

We look forward to following Isla’s continued success in her international hockey journey!
