We are excited to welcome back our Alumnae Speaker Series which introduces a number of inspiring members of our alumnae community, who will be delivering sessions on a number of topical and thought-provoking subjects.

On the evening of Wednesday 20th November 2024, 7:00pm - 9:00pm, we are looking forward to welcoming another inspiring member of our alumnae community, best-selling author, Ruth Hogan (BHS 1979), into BGS this Autumn.

In this Alumnae Speaker Series, Ruth will be sharing her journey into writing and discussing her latest novel, The Phoenix Ballroom.

Ruth’s fifth novel, the book is focused on the widowed protagonist, Venetia Hamilton Hargreaves, who with a large bank balance purchases the dilapidated Phoenix Ballroom. Set around The Embankment area of Bedford, the book features many well-known local landmarks to the reader.

All are welcome, there will also be an opportunity to buy a signed copy of Ruth’s book. Tickets are priced at £2 per person and will include light refreshments. To book your place, click here.
