This half term in Dance, Year 5 are exploring and learning how to depict, transfer and interpret ideas from Aboriginal art images into a physical movement state.
Initially, we are focusing on animals - snakes, lizards, turtles and kangaroos. Students have shared words to describe the actions of these animals, and they have imaginatively created movements based on words such as "slithery," "jerky," "smooth" and "bouncy."
During the next two lessons, we will begin to develop and create a piece of choreography that also incorporates the shapes and patterns found within the artwork they have studied.
