Junior School Triathlon

By Mrs Inkson (Head of Year 6)

Since January, a group of enthusiastic Years 4 to 6 girls have been training hard in our brand-new Junior School Triathlon Club! Designed for those with a love of swimming and running, the club meets every Friday lunchtime with Mr Castro (Head of Swimming), Miss Upham (PE Teacher), and me.

So far, the girls have taken on a variety of exciting challenges, including timed runs and swims, learning how to snake under lane ropes in the pool, and practising transition skills - an essential part of triathlon. We've also made use of the Senior School gym, where the girls have worked on moving between disciplines using stationary bikes and treadmills.

In addition to these focused training sessions, we’ve also had lots of fun with a Pokémon-themed running game, which brought plenty of energy and excitement to our lunchtime sessions!

The girls have shown fantastic dedication, and it’s been brilliant to see their skills and confidence grow each week. We can't wait for our first race of the season, the Bedford Junior Aquathlon at the end of March!
