We are delighted to announce that BGS has been recognised for a second time as an Apple Distinguished School (ADS) for its extensive use of Apple technology in the curriculum.
The award is achieved by only a handful of schools in the country who show exceptional innovation, leadership and educational excellence, and demonstrate a clear vision of exemplary learning environments.
BGS has had a one-to-one iPad programme in place since 2012 and was one of the first schools in the country to recognise the crucial role that mobile technology can play in forward-thinking teaching and learning.
Mr James Potter, Director of Digital Strategy, said: “The latest ADS award shows we are continuing to be at the forefront of the integration of technology into education and building the skills and understanding within our girls to ensure that they are prepared for a rapidly changing technological landscape.”
Another key factor in BGS being awarded ADS status for the second time is its production of multi-touch books. The School now creates multi-touch books to support the curriculum and since April 2016 has created over 60 books to support teaching and learning with many more on the way.
You can read more about the BGS 1:1 iPad journey in the new ADS multi-touch book, Continuous Innovation, Our Story. The free multi-touch book is available to download from the iTunes store here.
