We are delighted to announce that talented water polo player Ella Cotton (Upper Sixth) has qualified for the British Water Polo League (BWPL) Super 5 Finals.
Ella, who represents Coventry Ladies Water Polo Club, put in a fine display last weekend, winning two brilliant games against Liverpool and reigning champions Otter.
On Sunday, Coventry surged into contention by inflicting a first defeat on champions Otter, a goal by Ella snatching a 9-8 victory for the Midlanders with less than two minutes to play.
The wins have put Coventry in an amazing position for their next weekend away in the Lancaster finale (23rd and 24th March), where they play Otter and Manchester.
To make it more exciting the game will be streamed live on the BBC via the red button!
Ella said: “I am looking forward to play the last stage of Super 5s at the end of March in Lancaster, we are currently second in the country and are hoping to beat Manchester in the final. This is also being televised on BBC sports, which is also very exciting.”
BGS and the wider community also wish Ella all the best in her GB trials for the U19 European team in 2020, which take place on 16th and 17th March.
