Last Saturday, BGS fielded the U18 A and B teams in the annual U18 County Lacrosse Tournament at Berkhamsted School.

The A team had an outstanding tournament, placing third overall against strong opposition. In their first game, they drew 3-3 with the eventual winners of the tournament Berkhamsted School. Further wins against Haberdashers’ Aske’s School and Stowe School, a draw against St Georges’ School and a loss against St Albans School, meant we finished third overall in our group, missing the final by two points.

The girls played against Haberdashers’ Aske’s School in the 3rd/4th playoff and won this game 4-3. It was a very promising tournament with the girls drawing against the two finalists and the season ahead certainly looks like a very exciting one! Most valuable player went to Florence Miller (Year 11).

The B team performed well in the early start of their season. The competed against Berkhamsted School, Abbots Hill, and St Albans School, placing second in their pool. In the next stage they played Habadashers Aske and St Georges’ School, placing sixth overall in the tournament. A great effort by all squad members. Most valuable player went to Eva Brazil (Upper Sixth).
