BGS Sixth Former Katie Barfoot (Upper Sixth) will have the privilege of watching the United Nations operation up close when she visits their headquarters in Switzerland next month.
The week-long experience is designed for school and college students who have an interest in world affairs, and an inquisitive mind to see the UN at work.
Katie will have the chance to observe talks and seminars with ambassadors about the work they do, with subject areas ranging from Politics to Geography, while she will also get access passes to publications departments and the UN library.
Whilst the organisations are yet to be confirmed, students have previously observed the likes of UNICEF.
Katie said: “I’m really looking forward to my trip to the UN. I’m hoping to study Economics and Politics at university next year so I’m looking forward to the knowledge I can gain on the subject from the talks and material in the library.”
