Bedford Girls’ School is delighted to announce another year of strong A Level results, adding to the excellent International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) results recorded earlier this summer.
73% of all Upper Sixth entries (IB and A Level combined) achieved an equivalent of A*-B grades, with one in five girls in the A Level cohort attaining straight A*-A grades.
Over 90% of the year group can celebrate gaining entry into their first or second choice universities, with a diverse range of subjects being selected to study.
Kate Long (3 A*s) will study Politics, Laura Lopez-Odriozola (2 A*s and 2 As) Chemistry, Amy Osgood (2 A*s and 2As) Fashion and Alaska Simpson (1 A* and 3As) Mathematics and Computer Science.
Whilst many students have chosen universities in the UK, Gabriella Crawford is heading across the Atlantic to the USA, having been awarded a rowing scholarship at the University of Alabama.
Head of Bedford Girls’ School, Miss Jo MacKenzie, said: “This is yet another set of superb results, as a school we support and challenge every girl to achieve her personal best and this year’s cohort should be very proud of what they have achieved.
“I believe education is much more than gaining good examinations grades and our students have benefited from an education which has helped them develop strong intellectual character, determination and resilience.
“Our students leave school ready to face the opportunities and challenges of a wider world. I wish them all the very best for the future.”
