We are delighted that Mrs Kate Whitlock, Chair of our Alumnae and a professional Executive Coach, is running her Work The Room workshop again for students in the Lower Sixth on Monday 10th June 2019. This is an invaluable workshop, which enables the girls participating to prepare for the modern world by learning important networking skills, making a good impression and building networks. These are all essential skills, which are transferrable as they apply for university and forge ahead in the working world.
The event begins as an interactive workshop for the students with Mrs Whitlock covering areas such as preparing for a social business event, initiating and leaving conversations, communication styles and how to develop a short ‘elevator pitch’.
Following the workshop, the girls have the opportunity to practise their networking skills over a drinks reception style environment with a number of invited guests. The guests will comprise a mix of alumnae, parents and friends of the school, all of whom have had plenty of experience at business socialising and willing to share their know-how. Their areas of professional expertise cover a wide range of interesting areas from Law to Medicine, Engineering to Digital Media, the Civil Service to Journalism, Pharmacy to Surveying. The evening as always promises to be a thoroughly useful and informative experience for all those involved.
