Girls' Leadership Group (GLG

Devon Ward (Head Girl)

On Tuesday, Miss MacKenzie and members of the GLG held an assembly about the importance of leadership and an insight into the GLG and prefect roles.

Miss MacKenzie gave an introduction to leadership, explaining the importance of the GLG roles within the school and how these leadership roles are not given as a reward, or something we are entitled to, but more for our future within the roles.

The GLG then offered our views on what qualities were (or weren't) important when applying, the types of jobs our roles involve, and just generally some tips for applying. This gave the current GLG the opportunity to reflect on what is important in our roles and condense it down (to fit in 2 minutes each!), to allow them to see if they had the qualities we defined as important.

We really hope this session was helpful in outlining the roles. Mrs Goodman (Head of Sixth Form Operations) will be informing the Lower Sixth on how the application and selection process works next week.

We wish the girls all the best with their applications and the GLG are welcome to answer any queries about our individual roles and the whole process.
