During the Christmas holidays, we were proud to receive a wonderful set of examination results for Dance, Speech and Drama and Music students, who all achieved a 100% pass rate.
BGS Speech and Drama students celebrated incredible results in the Autumn Term London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA) examinations. Ranging from Grades 1 to 8, an impressive 21 Distinctions and two merits were achieved.
Mrs Redford (Head of Speech and Drama) said: “It is always encouraging when the students receive the results they deserve after working so hard in preparation for their Speech and Drama examinations. Once again, they achieved outstanding marks and we are extremely proud of them and their teachers for their commitment and determination.”
Our dance students achieved exceptional results in their recent RAD Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Ballet exams. Ranging from Grades 1 to 6, the talented dancers achieved a 100% pass rate.
Miss Bream (Teacher of Dance/Coordinator of Co-Curricular Dance) said: “With 100% pass rate, the hard work and talents of our students and Ballet Teacher Mrs Hannah D’Arcy clearly paid off. We are particularly proud of Lily Robertson (Year 11) who achieved the highest mark ever awarded for Ballet at BGS.”
Finally, a huge congratulations to all of the Music students who took their ABRSM and Trinity exams last term, earning an impressive set of results including ten distinctions and six merits with results being awarded for the piano, cello, flute, violin and voice.
Although the exam period can be somewhat nerve wracking, everyone should be exceptionally pleased with all that they have achieved. We hope to see many of our students continue with their music journey.
Mr Stratton (Director of Dance and Drama) reflected: “'As the new year and term begins, I'd like to take a moment to reflect on the fantastic engagement and success of students in recent Speech and Drama & Co-Curricular Dance examinations. I am really proud of each of the students listed below and thankful to the wonderful staff teams that have supported their development and progression. On behalf of the Dance and Drama department, well done all.”
