Celebrating Performing Arts

Drama and Dance

On Friday 27th April, Bedford Girls’ School invited parents and over 100 pupils to celebrate our Senior School Performing Arts achievements of the last year.

The Awards Evening was a great opportunity for girls in Year 10 and above to celebrate and be rewarded with colours for their hard work within Dance, Drama, Music and Speech and Drama. It was a fantastic evening to be a part of, full of beautiful performance from the last year, including an extract from the most recent senior production, Lord of the Flies.

We were also delighted to have renowned English actress Cat Simmons as our guest speaker and performer. After her moving performance of As Long As He Needs Me from the musical Oliver, she took part in a ‘conversation with...’ which helped us gain a real insight into the creative industry and how she pursued her career within drama. Her light-hearted and friendly personality really connected with all the students.

She told us, that the sky is our limit if we are doing what we love, and to tackle everything with resilience and keep an open-mind to the challenges that lie ahead. This is a message that will stay with us all in the years to come.

View some the best moments from the evening here.
