We are incredibly proud of our 2024 leavers and the academic paths they have chosen. The diversity in destinations and breadth of courses is a testament to the broad interests and ambitions of our students. Many of this year’s cohort have already started their first semester at university. The 2024 university destinations include some of the UK’s top institutions, stretching from Edinburgh and Manchester in the north to Exeter and Southampton in the south. Nottingham and Leeds continue to be popular choices, with 15 of this year’s leavers choosing these two cities as their new homes. Birmingham, Durham and Newcastle will host five, five and six Upper Sixth leavers respectively.

They have chosen an impressive array of courses, including Civil Engineering, Chinese with Social Anthropology, Architecture, Actuarial Science, Law, Medicine, Criminology, Linguistics, Banking and International Finance, Philosophy, Computer Science, Politics and International Relations, Biochemistry, Theatre Production and Fine Art, to name just a few.

An impressive 63% of our students secured places at Russell Group universities, while many other students are attending other highly regarded institutions, including several ranked in The Times UK University Rankings 2024 top 15, such as Bath, Lancaster and Loughborough.

Mrs Woolley (Director of Sixth Form) reflected on the 2024 leavers: “Every year, I am excited to watch our Upper Sixth step beyond our doors with the confidence and determination to pursue their aspirations, whether that is going to university, entering the working world, or exploring passions on a gap year. Our students are all exceptionally well-prepared. Through our career and university service, The Bridge, we guide them to make informed choices that will ensure they can seize the opportunities ahead and make the most of new experiences. The range of university destinations demonstrates the personalised nature of the advice they receive, as we carefully help them identify the right course in the right environment. Our students are ready to soar, and I am always so proud of them.”
