During the half term break our Senior School students were greeted with perfect conditions for skiing in the Dolomites in northern Italy. The girls enjoyed plenty of hours on the slopes in what was the School's second ever ski trip, organised by Head of DT, Mrs Hill.
Lower Sixth student Nicola Crolla summarises her experience:
“With new found relationships between students and teachers alike, a week skiing in Passo Tonale (Italy) is sadly over.
After an early start on Saturday 10th of February, we arrived in Italy and were met by instructors who taught us so much whilst insuring we all came back in one piece. Lots of skiing, along with ice-skating, swimming and sledging meant it wasn’t quite a restful half-term but one which allowed each of us to learn about ourselves and grow as people.
I’d like to, again, thank all the teachers who looked after us, with a special mention to Mrs Hill, for organising a fantastic week which we will remember for the rest of our lives.”
Mrs Hill adds: “I am always so proud of the girls on a trip such as this. They always stand out as a group who are real friends together regardless of year group or ski ability. They show compassion, concern and care for each other whilst having an absolutely fantastic time.
Whether they are hurtling down the slope on a sledge, swooshing down their first red or black run, high above the piste on the most comfortable chair lift in existence or sitting around the dinner table enjoying pizza and chips the girls were having fun together. The weather was perfect, the instructors were brilliant and the hot chocolate was out of this world! A week to remember and cherish forever.”
