By Mrs Schofield (Head of Year 4)
On Wednesday 12th June, Year 4 set off on an exciting residential trip to Grafham Water Activity Centre. Initially nervous, the girls quickly embraced the spirit of adventure. Over three days, they participated in a variety of challenging activities, including sailing, canoeing, crate stacking with high ropes, stand-up paddleboarding, mountain biking and bushcraft. The girls showed determination and enthusiasm, tackling each challenge with courage.
The high ropes and crate stacking required both physical skill and mental strength and the girls displayed impressive resilience as they overcame their fears. With all this activity, most of them found it easy to fall asleep at night.
Throughout the trip, the girls were not only brave but also incredibly supportive of each other. Many tried activities like stand-up paddleboarding and sailing for the first time, discovering new interests and passions. By the end of the trip, the girls had overcome their initial fears and emerged more confident and adventurous, ready to take on new challenges.
Imogen and Emma (4S) said: “We loved sailing, crate stack and mountain biking. It felt like we were adventurers!”
Tara (4A) added: “Grafham Water was the best residential so far and I loved the water activities - canoeing, sailing and everything else. I learned how to be in control in the water.”
Eleanor (4P) reflected: “At times, it was challenging for me, but it was always worth a go. I even made better relationships with lots of my peers. I particularly enjoyed sailing, paddle boarding and the crate stacking activity. I loved learning how to sail!”
