On Thursday 19 March, our Years 8 to 11 students enjoyed watching Auf dem Campingplatz, a popular play for German learners. The performance was full of humour and energy, with plenty of laughter from the audience as the story unfolded on stage.

The play follows two friends embarking on what they expect to be a relaxing camping trip. However, they arrive at a campsite that is far from their expectations. Completely unprepared, they soon face the harsh reality of no mobile signal and worse still, no food.

The discovery of a single packet of crisps turned their friendship into an all-out battle. As their desperation grew, so did the humour, keeping the audience entertained throughout.

Students enjoyed the actors’ comedic timing and the way the play captured the humour of the situation, with one commenting: “It was so funny to see their friendship fall apart over a packet of crisps!”

Two Year 8 students also took part in the performance, embracing the opportunity with confidence. Auf dem Campingplatz was enjoyed by all, offering plenty of laughs while helping students practise their listening skills in a new way.
