There are plenty of House Points up for grabs in competitions including the daily Mathematics challenges on @BGS_Maths and the weekly Bake Off. We've had delicious and mouth-watering entries for the Bake Off competitions. The results of this week’s competition, which had the theme left-overs was judged by Mrs Axford on the following criteria: good use of leftovers, level of skills demonstrated and presentation of dish.
The results were:
1st Ankita Somisetty (Year 8). Watermelon rind Halwa and leftover rice tikkis).
2nd Asha Kirkpatrick (Year 7). Homemade ravioli with leftover squash with a chicken and mushroom sauce).
3rd Molly Hyman (Year 5). Celery soup and burger, cauliflower and cheesy pasta bake.
4th Mr Rumfitt (IT Manager), lamb tikka supper with giant couscous tabbouleh and Mrs Inkson (Year 5 teacher), leftover turkey soup with sourdough bread.
In the daily Mathematics challenges, Nightingale are currently leading the way followed by Hepburn in 2nd place and Franklin in 3rd.
New House Challenges
- For Junior and Senior School - Do Something Active this Bank Holiday Weekend – upload your photo into Google Drive. You will find the link on an email from Mrs Axford in your Outlook inbox. Deadline 10.00pm Sunday 10th May.
- For Senior School - A 3-D Competition with the theme of ‘The Ocean’. Entries need to be made from products which you can find in your house. Once you have made it, take a photo of it which shows off your piece and add a brief explanation of how you made it. Upload your photo using the link on an email you will have received today from Mrs Axford in your Outlook inbox. Deadline Friday 15th May.

- Senior School Time Capsule Competition deadline Friday 29th May.
- Senior School Design an Eid Card to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr deadline Tuesday 19th May.
Highly commended submissions for each task will be publicised in your weekly BGS Community EDIT, on our social media sites and will be rewarded with more house points towards your House Totals.
