It’s that time of year again when excitement builds ahead of the annual House Drama competition! The annual event involves Year 7s working with Lower Sixth students to produce and perform a play at our House Drama event, which will take place on Monday 16th October, 3:00-5:00pm.
House Drama is not just a competition; it's an opportunity for our students to unleash their creativity, work together, and add their unique twists to the scripts. This event consistently stands out as one of the highlights of the year in our Senior School. The students take charge of every aspect of the production and the bonds formed during rehearsals foster a sense of teamwork between Year 7 and the Lower Sixth.
Given five weeks to prepare for the competition, each House play is performed by Year 7s, with students from the Lower Sixth cast as script writers and directors!
Last year Nightingale lifted the coveted trophy with an original and humorous performance of the classic nursery rhyme, Humpty Dumpty. Nightingale were closely followed by Austen in 2nd place with their version of Cinderella, which was full of humour and Franklin with a polished performance of an original story Lemonade Legs finished 3rd.
Over the coming weeks, we look forward to seeing the Lower Sixth grow in confidence in their leadership role, whilst encouraging the Year 7s to find their feet and make new friends as they embark on life in the Senior School.
We can't wait to see the talent and teamwork on display at this year's House Drama competition!
