Although the Science labs at school have been closed during lockdown, this has not deterred our Year 11 Biology students to carry out independent and engaging experiments at home.

Ash Katechia investigated the way in which voluntary and involuntary reactions work. Her research question was – Do your reactions improve with training depending on your age category? View experiment here.

Neha Vimal conducted two experiments. Her first experiment focused on the wider topic of nutrition. She was inspired by an article about the health benefits of antioxidants compounds found in vitamins, that can prevent disease and even prolong life. View experiment here.

Her second experiment is about endosymbiosis, she created a stop motion video which explains how the first complex cells came about. View the video here.
