The annual House Glee 2018 Finals didn’t fail to disappoint on Friday afternoon (30th November) in the Assembly Hall. There were 70 acts from across the whole school, with 12 making it through to the final afternoon.
One of the highlights of the Bedford Girls’ School calendar, the event was kicked-off by our very own Girls’ Leadership Group, who choreographed an impressive dance mashup to Beautiful by Christine Aguilera, Girls Just Want To Have Fun by Cindy Lauper and This Is Me by Keane Settle.
The six Houses then battled for the 2018 title, with each House having two or three individual performances including singing, dancing and musical performances. The atmosphere in the Assembly Hall was electric, with students and staff clapping, and chanting in support of each performance.
Mrs Jones, Assistant Head, Co-Curriculum adds: “Glee represents everything that is good about the House System at BGS; team work and respect for one another is evidenced in every single act.
“The quality of the House songs has improved over the years with the House Captains putting a huge amount of effort and creativity into directing them. It is good to see so many acts making their own music rather than using backing tracks.”
The winners from the competition will be announced next week on our social media channels and in the EDIT next Friday.
