Bella Hoar (Lower Sixth)

On Friday 7th February, Sixth Form students welcomed local residents from Bedford Citizens Housing Association (BCHA), Homebrook House, Dame Alice Court and Sight Concern Bedfordshire to our Lunch Club in the Compass Room, with quizzes, games and musical entertainment.

The initiative is an important part of the Service Team’s work, allowing us to give back to members of the wider community.

We found it to be a rewarding experience and a great opportunity to meet with local members of the community. Upon reflection, many of the visitors said they would love to invite the BGS sixth-formers this time to their own event.

Overall, we really enjoyed chatting to the residents and would thoroughly recommend other girls to partake in the next Lunch Club event.

Alison Woodward, Activities Manager at BCHA, said: “We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and you excelled in the kindness shown to all. I am sure that once words gets around, we will have a waiting list for the next Lunch Club.”
