I joined the BGS community in September 2022 as the Director of Dance and Drama.
I trained as an actor at ALRA (Academy of Live and Recorded Arts) in Wandsworth, Southwest London. Whilst training I completed a BA (Hons) and L6 Diploma, awarded by University of Greenwich and Trinity College London, respectively. My time at drama school equipped me with the knowledge and skills that I still regularly refer to today and was truly an invaluable experience.
After a short time in the industry, I merged my two passions - acting and coaching - and retrained to become a teacher. I completed my PGCE in what was once Post-Compulsory Education before working toward and being awarded QTLS. In Education, I have been a Head of Department, Early Career Teacher (nee.NQT) Induction Tutor, member of Teaching and Learning teams and have worked on introducing and implementing several whole school initiatives. I recently completed my NPQSL (National Professional Qualification in Senior Leadership) with the IOE (Institute of Education) and UCL (University College London).
As an educator, I am a huge believer in raising aspiration and creating real-world links for students. I am passionate about teaching and learning and am eager to continually develop innovation in school - a vision shared with Bedford Girls' School. The culture of possibility that the school, its students and staff exude is one of the many reasons I was attracted to working at BGS.
