Mr Potter (Director of Digital Strategy)

On Thursday 4^th October, BGS Alumna Alexis Monks (2014) dropped into the Computer Science Department to talk to the girls about careers in technology. Alexis completed a Computer Science degree at the University of Bristol and now works for technology giant PA Consulting as a Digital Expert.

She spoke about the different avenues you can go down in a career in technology, and also how it is as much about innovative ideas and the ability to sharpen your problem solving skills when solving code. Alexis also talked about the launch of the PA Consulting Raspberry Pi competition, where the theme this year is 'Travel and Transport'.

Alexis is a passionate advocate for getting more women into the tech industry and it is hugely helpful for us to be able to tap into her knowledge and expertise.
