On Thursday 18th January, we welcomed our new Mentors for 2024 as part of the BGS Alumnae Mentoring Programme.

This year we have 18 Mentors taking part, a few that have participated before, with the remaining, while new to this programme, have contributed greatly to school life over the years helping with careers-led events.

Led by Mrs Whitlock (Head of Careers), the BGS Alumnae Mentoring Programme Workshop sets the format for the year ahead , ensuring that everyone partaking has the most fulfilling experience possible. The workshop also enables the Mentor and Mentee to meet face to face for the first time; a chance to get to know each other and build rapport for their working relationship.

The start of the new mentoring programme always feels like the start of Spring and it is always wonderful to watch the students grow in confidence and flourish during the mentoring experience.

We run a range of Careers-led events throughout the school year and are always keen for our parent body to be part of these events too, be it sharing their career experiences, or being a willing participant for our annual Work The Room networking event, for our Lower Sixth students.
