During the Easter break, Eleanor Bruce (Year 11) took to the lacrosse fields in Edinburgh at the Home Internationals (Friday 6th – Sunday 8th April). Eleanor represented the U19B England team and scored two goals to contribute to a 22 – 7 win for England B against Scotland A on the first day.

On Saturday, it was the turn of England U19B to take on a strong U19A Wales team but once again, England B came out on top 18-6 with Eleanor slotting in another goal for her U19 team. In the final match on the Sunday the two unbeaten England teams were drawn against each other and despite a shot from Eleanor rebounding off the cross bar, England A team were victorious with a 20 – 6 win over England B team.

This was Eleanor’s first experience of International lacrosse and she will now be attending England training days over the next couple of months in preparation for a tour to the USA in July where Eleanor will be attending an American lacrosse camp and playing against teams from the USA.

Eleanor adds: “It was an amazing experience and I was incredibly proud to pull on an England shirt for the first time. I couldn’t have done it without the support of my family and friends, driving me all over the country for various training and sessions.”

In the Lacrosse academy programme Holly Smith (Year 10) also competed for her London North Regional Academy team in the Easter holidays which went on to win their Inter Regional tournament.

At the beginning of their lacrosse performance pathway congratulations to the following girls in Year 8 and 9 who trialled over Easter and have been selected to train with the England Regional Lacrosse Academy for 2018/19.
