Lily’s Wales Selection

Senior School Lacrosse

We are so proud of Lily Willard (Year 10), who has been selected for the U18 Wales Lacrosse National Academy.

Lily follows in the footsteps of Imogen Blower, who was chosen for the U19 Wales Lacrosse squad in September and Harri Scarr (Year 11), who has been representing Wales for the past couple of years.

Lily took part in a series of trials in Cardiff, covering skills, fitness and gameplay, and received news of her selection at the end of October. Playing in defence, she has been recognised as one of the national squad’s most promising prospects. Her commanding and dynamic play particularly impressed selectors during an intensive training camp over half-term.

Reflecting on her achievement, Lily shared: “I am thrilled to have been selected for Wales. My Welsh heritage is important to me, and having the opportunity to train and play for Cymru is something I am truly delighted about. I have a lot of hard work ahead, no doubt.”

Lily is set to compete in the Home International, where Wales, Scotland, Ireland and the regions of England will meet in April 2025 in Edinburgh.

We look forward to following her journey and cheering her on as she continues to develop her talents on the national stage.
