We are delighted to celebrate the success of Roisin MacDonald (Year 7) and her partner, who secured a gold medal at the Acrobatic Gymnastics Regional Championships for the East of England on Sunday 2nd March. This achievement crowns them as East of England Champions for their age and grade.

Roisin, who represents Salto Gymnastics in Bedfordshire, trains for nine hours per week, focusing on strength and conditioning, skills and routine practice. Her dedication has paid off, as this marks the second consecutive year that she has won gold at the regional championships. She is now aiming to build on her strong performance from last year’s UK event.

Roisin will go on to represent the region at the UK Championships in May, competing alongside her partner against the top gymnasts from across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Reflecting on the opportunity, she said: “I am really looking forward to representing the region at the UK Championships in May and competing against gymnasts from other countries. I would love to finish higher than my 7th place last year.”
