Many congratulations to Lizzie Guri (Year 5) and her acrobatic gymnastics partner, Fionn, who were crowned regional mixed pairs champions last Sunday at the Salco gymnastics club in Luton. Their outstanding performance has earned them a place in the preliminary round for the national championships next March in Milton Keynes.

Since joining BGS in 2022, Lizzie has embraced her passion for gymnastics, beginning her journey in the recreational group at Falcon Acrobatics Gymnastics Club. Her talent shone through when she was crowned individual champion in March 2024, a milestone that led to her invitation to the club’s competition squad.

Partnered with Fionn, the pair have achieved great success, securing victories at the club, county and now regional mixed pairs competitions. With the nationals preliminaries ahead, Lizzie and Fionn are looking forward to the next challenge.

Lizzie said: “I am so happy about how well Fionn and I have done and we are excited about going to the prelims next year.”
