Mrs Schofield (Head of Year 4)
On Tuesday, the corridors of the Junior School were filled with the delicious scent of cocoa beans and melting chocolate.
The Year 4 girls were enthralled by Mr Turner, a chocolatier, who led them through the chocolate making process from bean to bar. The girls learnt about chocolate passions around the world, such as ice flavoured KitKats from Japan, and how cocoa bean farmers harvest and process their crops. The girls used their senses to test chocolate for quality, and had a wonderful time creating their own mini chocolate bars and decorating chocolate lollies. Needless to say, this is one of the Year 4 teacher’s favourite events too. Plenty of active learning with a delicious end result!
