By Mrs Howard (Year 6 Teacher)

This term, Year 6 have been studying migration as part of their Unit of Enquiry, Where We Are in Place and Time

The year group have been exploring where people migrate from, their reasons for migration, and the challenges and opportunities that migrants face. This unit of inquiry has taken us all over the world, and last Friday was no exception.

We invited family members of Year 6 pupils into school to share their unique migration stories. The pupils had the opportunity to dive into the history of Ireland, Pakistan, India, Italy, Canada, Albania, the US, and Germany through our visitors' experiences. This provided them with a firsthand account of these life-changing journeys and how migration affects far more than just the individuals travelling.

The pupils were engaged, inquisitive, and proactive in truly understanding the different perspectives on migration and how it has shaped the lives of many of the pupils who were sat in that room!
