Junior musicians took to the stage in full force on Wednesday evening for this half-term’s Teatime Concert, which is a joyful celebration of all the hard work and dedication that goes into their daily practice. For some, it was their very first time performing, while for more seasoned musicians, it was an opportunity to showcase the latest piece they’ve been perfecting.
The programme featured a wonderful balance of pianists, violinists, and singers, along with impressive solos on flute and clarinet. No doubt, many performers felt a few nerves as their moment in the spotlight approached, but it was a delight to see their broad smiles as they soaked in the enthusiastic applause and, of course, took a well-earned bow!
With so many confident and rapidly developing musicians in the Junior School, there are always plenty of opportunities for pupils to pick up a new instrument and join the fun. As our musical community continues to grow, we may need to find a bigger venue for next half-term’s concert and perhaps invest in a larger teapot!
