Mrs Copp (Deputy Head of Junior School)
In the Junior School, our Year 6 girls are taking on a reading challenge called Starbooks, whereby pupils are challenged to read books from a variety of genre, suitably engaging and challenging.
The pupils have been tasked to use their critical and analytical skills to identify key themes, developing their skills as literary critics. Each pupil has a loyalty card to encourage regular reading, House Points and recognition for rising to the challenges of the Starbooks initiative.
Most importantly, the reading challenge not only opens up a whole new adventure to pupils, it aims to improve literacy skills and their love of reading.
