Feeder School Activity Mornings

Junior School

The Autumn Term is a busy term with a number of local schools visiting BGS for various activity mornings.

On Tuesday 18th September, we were joined by 39 children accompanied by their teachers from Milton Keynes and Broughton Manor Preparatory Schools, for a morning of activities to give them a flavour of life at BGS.

The girls were welcomed into the newly refurbished Science department seeing at first-hand how BGS use iPad technology in the classroom. The children enjoyed a session focusing on augmented reality led by Mrs Wathen. The technology enabled the girls to view the workings of the upper chamber of the human body. Dr Gates and Mrs Smart also led a chemical curiosity activity, which concluded with the ever popular screaming jelly baby explosion demonstration!

The girls also took part in a lively game of Tutti Frutti (netball shooting skills), trampolining and lacrosse led by the BGS PE Department. At morning break the visitors were joined by some of their former students and Year 5 girls from our Junior School.

Over the next week, we are welcoming girls from Pilgrims and Polam schools.
