On Tuesday 18th September, 12 girls from Years 8 to Lower Sixth attended training with The Diana Award's Anti-Bullying Ambassadors Programme.
The programme provides anti-bullying training to schools and other youth organisations throughout the UK and Ireland. The training aims to give students and staff the skills, practical ideas, knowledge and confidence to create a culture of kindness in their schools and communities.
Jasmin Chambers (Lower Sixth) who is leading the initiative at BGS said: “It was such an honour to be part of the Diana Award, which stands against bullying. The training that we received last week was outstanding as it gave all of us a better insight into the different types of bullying and strategies to help create a positive environment. As a team, we will be organising different events over the year to spread awareness of the movement to the whole school.
Laura Ellis (Year 9) adds: “As a School we will continue to create an environment where every student is happy, and no negative influence is inflicted upon any student. For me, personally, this opportunity has empowered my understanding and developed my communication skills of the subject, so that if any girl are in need of my guidance, I will be ready to help.”
